Me :- how do you feel about a plum carpet in here when all the work's done?
Him:- ha, ha, very funny.
Me:- (perplexed) what do you mean?
Him:- well, that's a joke isn't it?
Me:- Er - no! what makes you think it's a joke? Plum carpet. I think it'll look great.
Him: - It's a joke because we already have a plum carpet in here, don't we?
Me:- No!
Him:- (pointing at current carpet) Well what colour is this then?
Me: - Raspberry.
Me:- (perplexed) what do you mean?
Him:- well, that's a joke isn't it?
Me:- Er - no! what makes you think it's a joke? Plum carpet. I think it'll look great.
Him: - It's a joke because we already have a plum carpet in here, don't we?
Me:- No!

Ah .. Now I understand .. they had YELLOW plums in Tesco , the Plumberry carpet we have now is a better colour than yellow?
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no, no, no. Plum as in Victoria plums. You know I would never want a yellow carpet! or if you don't, after 34 and a half years of marriage you certainly should. Thanks for the reminder about the yellow plums though, must go and get one out of the fruit bowl to eat!
